A) Mahavira preached that man's ultimate goal is to attain freedom from worldly bonds or to attain Moksh.

It can be obtained by the three jewels or triratnas :

  • Right faith
  • Right knowledge
  • Right conduct

B) Mahavira encouraged equality among the people as the Jains rejected the caste system and rituals. Important contributions were made in the field of literature by the Jain monks. The Jain literature included 12 upangas, 10 Prakiranas, Sutras and Mulasutras.
