1)The Mansabdar was a military unit within the administrative system of the Mughal Empire introduced by Akbar. The system determined the rank and status of a government official and military generals. Every civil and military officer was given a mansab, which determined their salaries & allowances.

2)Zat fixed the personal status of a person and the salary due to him. The higher the zat, the more prestigious was the noble's position in court, and the larger his salary. The sawar rank indicated the number of cavalrymen or sawar a mansardar was required to maintain.
