During electrolysis the pure copper from the extracted copper plate at the anode gets dissociated in the copper salt electrolyte and then the equal amount of copper gets deposited on the pure copper plate on the cathode.
at Anode the insoluble impurities during the electrolysis get settled at the bottom.
These insoluble impurities are known as anode mud and the soluble impurities get dissolved in the electrolyte.
