a) Define the term ‘Constitution’. State any two reasons for its significance.

Ans:- The constitution of any country is a fundamental technique to protect the political & the judicial and the interests of the citizens of that country.

The Constitution is the fundamental law of any country through which the direction of development of that country is determined.

Significance:-

  1. The constitution is made to provide such a set of basic rules so that the members of the society maintain a fair coordination and trust.
  2. Constitution clarify that who will have the power to make decisions in society and how the government will be formed.

b) What is meant by Universal Adult Franchise.

Ans:- Universal adult suffrage means that all citizens whose age are 18 or older are free to vote, regardless of their education, religion, color and economic conditions. It is an essential aspect of all democracies and is based on the concept of equality.

c) Mention any two differences between the Fundamental Rights and Directive principles of the state policy.

Ans:- Fundamental rights:-

  1. They are protected by the court. Citizens can pray before the court on their encroachment.
  2. Fundamental rights can be postponed or suspended,

Directive principles of the state policy:-

  1. The Directive Principles do not have the protection of the court, so citizens cannot take refuge in the court.
  2. Directive Principles can't be postponed or suspended.

The two reasons for its significance are as follows :

  1. A constitution is a system of laws and principle.
  2. Reduces change of conflicts by specifying certain rules.

(b) What is meant by Universal Adult Franchise.

\mapsto Universal adult Franchise means all adult citizens of the country have the right to vote without any discrimination of class, caste, religion or gender. It is based on the basic principle of democracy, which we call equality.

(c) Mention any two differences between the Fundamental Rights and Directive principles of state policy.

Fundamental Rights :-

Directive principles of state policy :-
