Explanation:

If we look at worker participation in India, the ratio of male workers is far greater than female workers.

The reasons behind these are the lack of equal work opportunities for women. Many jobs especially related to worker categories prefer men over women. Other reason is that normally there is a limitation of women going to some technical school. Third thing is the lack of basic education, women are at times compromised on their education right from the beginning.

The effective labour force participation rate is an economic indicator of the proportion of working age actively participating in the labour market.

  • Total people in 15-60 age group is determined by the size of the labour force. Children in 0-15 age group and more elderly people over 60 are exempted from the work force.
  • In India, the rural working population is larger than urban, as all members routinely engage in the agricultural sector, although many women do not participate in work due to social inhibitions.
  • In India, in comparison to developed countries, the worker-population ratio is low. Also, as opposed to men, the rate of female job participation is modester.
  • The engagement rate of the country's working force fell to 49 % in Dec 2020, compared with 49.2 % in the previous year.
  • The rate is revised annually, with an average rate of 57.4%, available from Dec 1990 to Dec 2020. The data extended a record high of 58.2% in Dec 1990 and a record low of 49% in Dec 2020.
