given : refractive index of  kerosene is 1.44

& refractive index of diamond is 2.42

therefore refractive index of diamond with respect to that of kerosene =

REFRACTIVE INDEX OF DIAMOND/ REFRACTIVE INDEX OF  KAROSENE
                                  2.42/1.44 = 1.68

Chahal17: Thank you sooo much
Chahal17: Please tell me the answer of that question
The absolute refractive indicies of glass and water are 3/2 and 4/3. Determine the ratio of the speed of light in glass and water.
adityavarmaindukuri: we know that refractive index is the ratio of speed of light in vaccum and speed of light in medium. now we need speed of light in medium so it can be determined by the ratio
Chahal17: Please give me proper answer in sequence

adityavarmaindukuri: the ratio of the speed of light in glass and water is 8/9

adityavarmaindukuri: refractive index of glass=speed of light in vaccum/ speed of light in medium, refractive index of glass =
adityavarmaindukuri: sorry
adityavarmaindukuri: refractive index of glass = c/v(glass) , v(glass) = c/3/2, v(water)=c/4/3, v(glass)/v(water)=4/3/3/2=8/9
