Yes obviously.
The poet Roald Dahl conveys a very serious message through this poem. He wants the parents not to allow their children to watch television consistently. It will clog and clutter up their young minds. It will rust and freeze their powers of thinking so he associates television with monster who slowly kills the imagination of the children and makes them dull.
He wants them to read books which can stimulate their imagination. It is a good habit for children. It introduces to them a new and dynamic world which is more fascinating.
