☆VEGETATIVE PROPAGATION is a type of asexual plant reproduction in which , new plants are obtained from a part of the parent plant without involvements of its reproductive organs .

☆There are two types of propagation :

1. Natural vegetative propogation.

2. Artificial vegetative propogation.

☆NATURAL VEGETATUVE PROPOGATION :-

It is the proportion in which plant parts like ROOT , STEMS and LEAVES develop into new plants .

》》METHODS ARE :

◇BY ROOTS : In some plants like dahlia, sweet potato , etc . the adventitious roots are used for vegetative propogation.

◇BY STEMS : Runners , Bulbs , tubers etc , reproduced by means of stems .

◇BY LEAVES : Some plants like Bryophyllum bear buds on leaves which on coming in contact with the soil , develops into small plant under favourable conditions .

☆ARTIFICIAL VEGETATIVE PROPAGATION :

The property of vegetative propogation is used in CUTTING , LAYERING AND GRAFTINFG , which are known as methods of artificial vegetative propogation.

》》METHODS ARE :

◇CUTTING :

⊙ Pieces of stem removed by cutting and placed in the soil often form a root system and develop into a new plant.

⊙Ornaments plants grown through this process is Rose and Jasmine.

◇GRAFTING :

⊙Piece of one plant without roots( scion ) can be attached for the plant with root (stock) of another plant .

⊙Many apple varities lemon , grapes, mango, pear , etc are grown through this process.

◇LAYERING :

⊙The defoliated part of branch is covered with soil . After a few days this part develops root .

⊙This method is used to grow plants like Jasmine and grape.

hope it helps u dear ^_^
