Since these resistors are connected in parallel current flowing through each resistor will be different .

Therefore total current=

I = I1 + I2 + I3

V/R = V/R1 +V/R2 +V/R3 ( BY OHM'S LAW I =V/R)

V/R =V [1/R1 +1/R2 +1/R3]

1/R =1/R1 +1/R2 +1/R3

When resistors are connected in parallel the potential Difference across each resistor is the same

We know that

V=IR

Current across each resistor is given as

I1=V/R1 I2=V/R2. I3=V/R3

Total current in the circuit is given by

Ip=I1+I2+I3

V/Rp=V/R1 +V/R2+ V/R3

1/Rp=1/R1+1/R2+1/R3
