Explanation:

In humans, biological sex is determined by five factors present at birth: the presence or absence of a Y chromosome, the type of gonads, the sex hormones, the internal genitalia (such as the uterus in females), and the external genitalia.

\Large\underline\mathbb{\red{SEX \: \:  DETERMINATION :-}}

(In Human beings)

\:\bulletThe chromosomes which determine the sex of a person are called sex chromosomes.

\:\bullet The process by which the sex of a person is determined is called Sex Determination.

\:\bullet A Male(father) has XY set of chromosomes and A Female(Mother) has XX set of chromosomes.

\:\bullet The sex of child depends on what happens at the time of fertilization :

(a) If a sperm carrying X chromosome fertilises an Ovum (egg) which carries X chromosome,the the born child will be a girl(or female).This is because the set of chromosomes formed is XX and hence, the born child is female or girl.

(b) If a sperm carrying Y chromosome fertilises an Ovum which carries X chromosome,the born child will be a boy(or male).And thid clearly means that set of chromosomes formed is XY and hence the born child is Boy or male.
