With the help of a labelled diagram describe an activity to show that the particles of matter are very small. Use the following material that has been provided to you : 4 beakers, spatula, 4 test-tubes, distilled water and a few crystals of potassium permanganate.

(1) Take 2-3 crystals of potassium permanganate and dissolve them in 100 ml of water.

(2)    Take out approximately 10 ml of this solution and put it into 90 ml of clean water.

(3)    Take out 10 ml of this solution and put it into another 90 ml of clean water.

(4)    Keep diluting the solution for 5 to 8 times more.

(5)    This experiment shows that just a few crystals of potassium permanganate can colour a large volume of water (about 1000 /).

Hence, we conclude that there must be millions
