The change in the direction of light when it passes from one medium to another obliquely, is called refraction of light.
In other words, the bending of light when it goes from one medium to another obliquely is called Refraction of light.
Snell's law:
The ratio of sine of angle of incidence to the sine of angle of refraction is constant for given pair of media
sin i/ sin r = n
or n1 sin i=n2sin r

If we look at the first law of refraction, the ratio of sine of the angle of incidence to the sine of the angle of refraction is constant which is known as Snell's law
U = -18cm
F= 20cm
V = ?
Using lens formula
1/v - 1/u = 1/f
=> v = -180cm
M= v/u = 10
Image will be real and enlarged.
