Take water in a glass.Add a spoon of salt in the glass of water and stir. The salt will dissolve and the water will taste salty. The salt particles dissolve in water because they occupy the spaces between the particles of water in the glass. This results in spreading of salt particles throughout the particles of water in the glass. This experiment shows particle nature of matter.

Answer:

Explanation:

To show that matter is particulate (made up of particles), simply use the Gold Foil experiment Rutherford performed. Rutherford shot alpha particles which either shot straight through the gold foil (as most did) or bounced back/changed direction (as only a few did). His experiment showed that all matter is composed of electrons/protons and eventually led up to the discovery of neutrons. He also developed the nuclear model of the atom which you can also use to support the fact that matter is made up of particles. (subatomic particles - atoms - molecules - compounds - mixtures ... etc
