A sundew plant has hairs on their leaves which are coated with a sticky liquid . This gives of a scent that attracts insects . When an insect gets stuck on one of its hairs, the hair wraps it around, covers it with digestive juices and kills the insect .

A venus flytrap has short and stiff hairs on their leaves which are very sensitive. With the touch of an insect, it snaps shut and immediately kills the insect.

A pitcher plant's leaves is modified into a pitcher with a lid . The lid is very slippery so that when a insect sits on the lid it will slip down . Inside a pitcher there are hairs pointing downwards so that the insect can't escape. Later the insect is digested .
