after boiling,take that leaf,and put it in testube half filled with methylated spirit

keep that testube in water and boil it

the chlorophyll dissolves in spirit

after becoming pale(leaf)

take that leaf out and put it in petridish

pour some iodine solution

the leaf will become blue-black

this indicates presence of starch
