In this reaction, the H+ from the acid and OH- ions from the base combine to produce water the reaction is therefore called neutralization reaction.

Acid +Bade ===>Salt +H2O

Example of neutralization reaction is:

HCl(Acid) + NaOH(Base) ===> NaCl(salt)+ H2O(water)
