Bromoethane on reaction with KOH/NaOH in water/ethanol will give ethanol, while bromobenzene will give phenol.
Ethyl bromide and Bromobenzene
EthylBromide + aq KOH + dil HNO3 + AgNO3 → Yellow precipitate
Bromobenzene + aq KOH + dil HNO3 + AgNO3 → No Yellow precipitate

Hey dear,
● Answer -
Iodoform test
● Explaination -
# Ethyl bromide -
Ethyl bromide on reaction with NaOH gives ethanol.
C2H5Br + NaOH ---> C2H5OH + NaBr
Ethyl alcohol on iodoform test gives yellow precipitate.
C2H5OH + NaOI ---> CHI3 + HCOONa
# Bromobenzene -
Bromobenzene on reaction with NaOH gives phenol.
C6H5Br + NaOH ---> C6H5OH + NaBr
Phenol gives negative iodoform test. i.e. no precipitation.
Hope this helped you...
