Friction can cause us loss of massive amount of energy in different ways. But the same friction is also a boon. For an example, if we roll a ball, then the ball rolls and after a particular time , it comes to rest. It because of the pressure acting between the ball and the ground. But in the absence of friction, the ball will continue to roll and it will never stops. When we take a journey in a bus it will stops once the bus applies break. But in the absence of friction it wont take place and our journeys wont come to an end.
