Yes.  The  shape  of  the  cell  depends  upon  its  function.

For  example,  the  function  of  the  nerve  cell  is  to  recieve  and  transfer  messages  from  the  brain  to  the  cell  and  back  to  the  brain.  This  is  the  reason  why  the  nerve  cell  is  branched,  so  that,  it  can  transfer  the  messages  very  fast  through  its  branches.
