The use of difference in volatility of a substance.

Different substance does evaporate at different temperatures (a more volatile substance like ammonia compounds ,some elements get easily vapourised. )

NaCl is very less volatile (u would learn this at 12th class)

So they can be separated easily.

Some compound get directly converted from solid-gas and hence this property is shown by ammon. Chloride(NH4Cl) not by NaCl

Subsequently they get separated .

NH4Cl at wall of the chamber.
