Ans.
The nucleosome is an structure that shows a basic unit for packaging of DNA. It is made up of eight histone proteins that form core and a DNA segment that coils around the coil to form an octamer. Many nucleosomes get folded by a series of highly ordered structures to form a complex chromosomes.
The histone proteins found in nucleosome core are H2A, H2B, H3, and H4 and the DNA present around each core is about 146 basepairs long. Two nucleosome octamers are connected to each other by linker DNA of about 20-60 basepairs that coils around H1 histone protein.
