Natural selection is the differential survival and reproduction of individuals due to differences in phenotype. It is a key mechanism of evolution, the change in heritable traits of a population over time.

Natural selection is the process in nature by which organisms better adapted to their environment tend to survive and reproduce more than those less adapted to their environment. For example, treefrogs are sometimes eaten by snakes and birds.

it is differential reproduction which means some members of population have same genes that enables them to grow up and reproduce at higher rate and leave more surviving offsprings in next generation than others.. that is ;they are selected by nature
