There are two forms of reproduction i.e. mitosis and meiosis.

In the case of meiosis, if we talk about the pro phase 1 stage of meiosis, then we need to mention about five most important stages i.e. leptotene, zygotene, Pachytene, Diplotene and Diakinesis stages respectively.

However the prophase 1 stage is referred to as the most complicated stage of meiosis.

In this kind, the chromosome number finally gets reduced to its half and in this stage, meiosis has is almost  complete before it reaches to its successive stages.

The chromosomes start to coil and homologous chromosomes start to form pairs. They exhibit thew process of crossing over and and form bivalents and sister chromatids are formed. Chiasmata is also found.

However the nucleolus disappears and nuclear envelop disappears too.
