The stability of the DNA double helix depends on a fine balance of interactions including hydrogen bonds between bases, hydrogen bonds between bases and surrounding water molecules, and base-stacking interactions between adjacent bases.

The double helix structure of DNA is highly stable. The DNA has a double helix structure which they have adopted in the cell. All of the DNA have the same basic twisted ladder shape in all of its variants. The double helix structure of DNA gives DNA physical and chemical properties which make the structure of DNA very stable. This stabilising of the DNA is very much required as it helps the strands to hold together together.
