"Importance of Protecting Forests"

Protection of trees can give many other added benefits along with preventing the loss of tree life. Firstly, it helps to prevent erosion of topsoil. The roots of the trees keep the soil-bound together therefore the topsoil remains intact. Trees also provide oxygen and remove carbon dioxide. Oxygen is the basic need for all living organisms therefore it is of utmost importance. The carbon dioxide which they exhale is taken up by the trees for photosynthesis. They also help in cloud formation and bring forth rain sometimes. The dead leaves from the trees fall down and become a part of the soil, thus fertilizing it. They also provide firewood, fruits and medicines for the needs of human beings. Therefore protection of these trees is for the betterment of ourselves in turn.
