__________________________________________________________

° Only those characters passes to the next generations or inherited which leads to the changes in gametic cell.

°. Changes or mutations occurs in somatic cells of the body are not inherited.

° Example:- if a man lost his hand in accident then in his upcoming generation will have two hands because here changes occur in somatic cells of body.

° If a man acquired aids during his life time then it will be inherited to his upcoming generation if not treated properly on time

Hope it will help you...✌️✌️

The experience and qualifications that a person earns during his/her lifetime are example of acquired traits.

They are due to change in lifestyle, injury, loss of body parts etc.

These traits cannot be inherited. Only the changes in the genetic material of the reproductive cells can be inherited.

e.g. 1. muscles developed by exercise cannot be inherited to offspring as these changes occur in somatic cells ( changes in the somatic cells are not passes onto the next generation). These are called as acquired traits.

2. if a person read books, the knowledge he earns by reading the book does not make any change in the gene, hence this knowledge will not get automatically transmitted to his generation.
