Periodic changes are changes that occur periodically at regular intervals and non-periodic changes are changes that do not occur periodically at regular intervals.

EXAMPLE:Day and night, changing phases of the moon, beating of heart, clock striking an hour are all examples of periodic motion

Non Periodic Motion. The name itself implies that this type of motion does not repeat itself after a fixed time interval. Even though the motion of a body repeats, it can be non-periodic motion if it does not have a fixed time for repetition.

EXAMPLE:Water becoming ice, burning of matchstick etc are non periodic changes.
