Answer:

\displaystyle{v=7.879 \ m/sec}

Explanation:

Given ;

Radius of earth ( R ) = 6400 km

Acceleration due to gravity at surface ( g ) = 9.7 m / sec²  or 0.0097 km / sec

Let the velocity of v m / sec

Now ;

Weight = Centripetal Force

\displaystyle{mg=\frac{mv^2}{R}}\\\\\displaystyle{g=\frac{v^2}{R}}\\\\

Putting values here ;

\displaystyle{0.0097=\frac{v^2}{6400}}\\\\\displaystyle{v^2=0.0097\times6400}\\\\\displaystyle{v^2=62.08}\\\\\displaystyle{v=\sqrt{62.08} \ km/sec}\\\\\displaystyle{v=7.879 \ km/sec}

Thus we get Horizontal velocity .
