With what metal is hydrogen released when the metal is reacted with alkali?

When base reacts with metal it produces salt & hydrogen gas.

Alkali + Metal = Respective salt + Hydrogen gas

To better understand, take the following example..

2NaOH + Zinc = Na2ZnO2 + H2

In above example when sodium when reacts with zinc metal it gives sodium zincate & hydrogen gas.
