Withoust actually performing the long division state whether the 15/50 will have a terminating decimal expansion or non terminating repating decimal expansion

1) convert the fraction in its lowest term

2) do prime factorization of the denominator

3) if the factors are other than 2 or 5, then it would be a non terminating decimal

Lowest term of 15/50= 3/10

Prime factorization of 10= 2×5

As the factors are only 2 or 5, it is a terminating decimal.
