without actually performing division , state whether 104/3000 will have terminating decimal expansion or not . give reason

No it would not be a Terminating Decimal Expansion as Denominator is 3*1000
And A number can be a terminating decimal only when its denominator prime factors are just 2 and/or 5 but in the above case 3 is there hence its not a terminating decimal.
