(ii)  17/8

      Factorize the denominator we get

                        8          =2 x 2 x 2                  = 2^3

      So denominator is in form of 2^n so 17/8 is terminating .

Answer:

17/8 is terminating

Step-by-step explanation:

On factorising the denominator 8

we get ,

8=2*2*2= 2^3

As it is of the form 2^n *5^m where n =3 and m =0 (5^0=1)

Hence 17/8 has terminating decimal expansion....
