terminating means that the remainder will not repeat over time or it will not end anywhere but in non terminating repeating decimal it means that you will get a definite reminder the 33rd is terminating decimal 15 by 1600 because it is divisible by 5 and it is for the divisible and 17 by 8 is not divisible so it terminating
