1) In a democratic country like India, elections play an important role and reflect people and political participation, as the people choose their ruling representatives from a choice of different political parties
2) To check the quality of election process, it is essential to analyse the effective participation of people in it. For instance, if the election procedure is not fair, people would never participate and exercise their vote and hence, boycott and prevent participation in elections
