2(x^2-x) = 3
2x^2 -2x= 3
2x^2-2x-3 = 0

Here,
a = 2 b= -2 c = -3

b^2 -4ac = D
= (-2)^2 - 4(2)(-3)
=4 + 24
= 28

Since D > 0 this equation has real but distinct roots.

This is quadratic equation.

Hope it helps.
