If x is positive and y is positive then it lies in first quadrant
If x is negative and y is positive then it lies in second quadrant
If x is x is negative and y is also negative then it lies in third quadrant
If x is positive and y is negative then it lies in fourth quadrant
Now
a) (5,-3) lies in fourth quadrant
b) (-5,-3) lies in third quadrant
c) (-5,3) lies in second quadrant
d) (5,3) lies in first quadrant
