Without solving the polynomial, find the value of m for which the roots are equal:

2 + 2(m-1)x + (m + 5)

since the roots are equal, the polynomial is a perfect square                                    therefore m+5=(m-1)^2                                                                                          =>m=4,-1
if the question is x^2+2(m-1)+(m+5)
