You can use carbon disulphide as the solvent to separate the 2 from the mixture. Sulphur will dissolve in the solution and then you can separate the iron fillings by filtration. Then keep the beaker containing the "sulphur dissolved Cu₂S" undisturbed for a few minutes. Cu₂S being a volatile liquid will vapourise leaving behind sulphur in the beaker.
