cos 30 = √3/2

tan 45 = 1

applying the values , we get

5 (1/2)^2 + (1/√2)^2 - 4 (1/√3)^2

2 (1/2)(√3/2) + 1

=5/4 + 1/4 - 4/3

-------------------

√3/2 + 1

= 1/6/ 2+√3/2

= 1/3 (2+√3)

after rationalising,

= (2-√3)/3
