In India, women are discriminated every day due to gender. Though both the government and various NGOs have tried to change the situation, it has only been effective till a certain extend. The various women centric issues are:

Educating the Girl Child: Many girls are not given the basic right of quality education and are viewed as lesser than their male counterparts. 

Menstrual Hygiene: Menstruation has been considered as a taboo topic by the society and any discussions on the same neglected. This has resulted in poor menstrual hygiene with girls dropping out from schools due to the unavailability of proper sanitary facilities.

Equal Partnership in Household Chores: With more and more women coming out to work in the public spheres, there is a need for the men to share the household chores with them.

Domestic Violence: Though women are not the only ones to fall prey to domestic violence, the increased graphs regarding the same shows a need to voice out and tame this problem.

Other women-centric issues can be dowry, sexual abuse, virginity tests,etc

The culture and tradition of India is considered as old and great all over the world where people used to worship various female goddesses, saints and poets. India is also a powerful nation and famous worldwide for being the largest democracy in the world however, women backwardness is also very clear in the Indian society because of the social issues, problems and lots of restrictions against women. Women belong to the lower and middle class family suffers more than the women of higher class family. Women in the Indian society generally face problems of sex discrimination, high percentage of illiteracy, female infanticide, dowry system, etc
