There were 22 women MPs in the foremost Lok Sabha in the year of 1951 while the existing Lok Sabha has 66. This increase has been stable through the years.

This number has fallen three times, with the most recent fall in female MPs in Lok Sabha being in 2014.

Thus it can be concluded that 54 years and 16 elections for the Lok Sabha has seen a three-fold rise in the number of lady MPs in the lower house of parliament.
