wood is not considered to be a fossil fuel.why?

until wood is buried and altered it is just stick unlike coal or crude oil wood is not a remains of prehistoric organisms and therefore it is not a fossil fuels it's just a fule

fossil fuels are carbon based, and take a long long time to develop. they are made from dead plants animals that have been in the ground for hundreds of millions of years. Wood, on the other hand, could have just grown in the last couples of years, and is still alive today. Also wood doesn't burn nearly as powerfully as normal fossil fuels.
