Wooden article was made by scooping out a hemisphere

from each end of a solid cylinder, as
.If the height of the cylinder is 10 cm and its base is of
radius 3.5 cm, find the total surface area of the article.​

Radius of base of cylinder, r= 3.5 cm Height, h = 10 cm.

Total area of article, = Curved Surface area of Cylinder + 2 × Area of Hemisphere

= 2πrh+2×2πr^2

= 2×22/7×3.5×10 +2 × 2×22/7×3.5×3.5

= 3.5×34×22/7

= 374sq.cm
