Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

cost price of fan=6000rupees

sold the fan for 15% loss i.e.85%of 6000

sp of fan=85/100*6000=5100

with 5100 rupees he bought a microwave and sold it for 70% profit i.e 170% of 5100

sp of microwave=170/100*5100=8670

in overall his profit=sp of microwave-cp of fan=8670-6000=2670

i.e. in overall he got a profit of 2670rupees.

This is the right answer .Please mark my answer as brainliest and thank me.

Given: Vikash purchased a fan for rupees 6000 and sold it at a loss 15%. From the amount he purchased a microwave and sold it at a profit of 70% .

To find: His overall Profit / Loss.

Solution:

Vikash purchased the fan for rupees 6000. So, the cost price is Rs. 6000. The selling price is calculated as shown below.

SP = 6000 - (\frac{15}{100} * 6000)

     =5100

Thus, he used the amount of Rs. 5100 to buy the microwave. So, the cost price of the microwave is Rs. 5100. Since the profit is 70%, the selling price must be

SP = 5100 + (\frac{70}{100} * 5100)

      = 8670

Vikash initially invested Rs. 6000 and finally had Rs. 8670. Thus, the profit is

8670 - 6000 = 2670

Therefore, his overall profit is Rs. 2670.
