Words kind or unkind, cost nothing; but they are very powerfulfactors in giVing pleasure or causing misery. They be be used both for goodand for evil. The influence of words last throughout a lifetime. A home where the people do not use kind words to one another must be like a desert. They are many who think that it is enough if we help the poor materially; it is not necessary to used kind words along with the gifts. But it is a mistake, for a small gift accompanied with kind words is much more acceptable then a large gift bestowed with indifference.
