More work can be done by isothermal reversible expansion ideal gas because, the expands in reversible heating and the temperature remains through out the whole process. But, for adibatic process, the Q=0 so, here, no work is done.

In the equation W tends to the maximum as (P – dp) tends to P or dp tends to zero. Therefore work done in an isothermal reversible expansion of an ideal gas is maximum work.
