Answer: 30 volts

Explanation: W = ΔVQ

                    => 100 J = ΔV x 5 C

                    => V - 10 = 20 V

                    => V = 30 volts

Given :-

  • Charge , Q = 5 C

  • Work done for moving Charge , W = 100 J

  • electric potential at one end of conductor , V₁ = 10 V

To find :-

  • Electric potential at second end of conductor, V₂ =?

Knowledge used :-

  • The difference in electric potentials of two points gives the potential difference b/w the two points.

  • Relation between Work done (W) , potential difference (V) and charge (Q)

      V = W / Q

Solution :-

Let, potential difference between the end points of conductor be V

Then,

Using formula

→ V = W / Q

→ V = 100 / 5

V = 20 V

Therefore, potential difference b/w the end points of conductor is 20 volts.

Now,

→ V = V₂ - V₁

→ 20 = V₂ - 10

→ V₂ = 20 + 10

V₂ = 30 V

Therefore,

Electric potential at the other end of conductor is 30 volts.
