We know the third kinematics equation
v^2 - u^2 = 2as
So, multiply the whole equation with 1/2*m
We get,
1/2*m*v^2 - 1/2*m*u^2 = mas
Final kinetic energy - Initial kinetic energy = F*s = Total work done
Hence, this is the work energy theorem.
1/2*m*v^2 - 1/2*m*u^2 = Total work done
Note* - We've to mention the work done by all the forces acting on the system
