work of neumatophore and why they needs to some plants

Pneumatophores are the aerial roots that grow vertically upwards in swampy plants like rhizophora to obtain oxygen as swampy plants are constantly submerged under water. If the roots does not oxygen they will rot and die and finally the plant will also die.

aman1430: as they have stomata to exchange of gas so there is no use of neumatophore
