HERE IS YOUR ANSWER.....
WORK OF RIVERS:-
As a river begins to flow along the slope of the land, it carries out erosion and deposition on its way before reaching the sea. As a result it modifies landscape of the region through which it passes. The work of a river is performed by three processes:
1. Erosion,
2. Transportation and
3. Deposition.
1. Erosion:
In physical geography erosion means the wearing away of the land surface by agents that involve the transportation of materials. The chief agents of erosion are river, glacier and wind.
2. Transportation:
In physical geography transportation means the movement of weathered and eroded earth material I, natural agents such as river, glacier, wind etc.
3. Deposition:
In physical geography deposition means the laying down of material that has been weathered, eroded and transported by natural agents such as river, glacier, winds etc.
WORK OF SEA WAVES:-
The work of sea water is performed by several marine agents like sea waves, oceanic currents, tidal waves and tsunamis but the sea waves are most powerful and effective erosive agent of coastal areas. Sea waves are defined as undulations of sea water characterized by well-developed crests and troughs (fig. 20.1). The mechanism of the origin of sea waves is not precisely known but it is commonly believed that waves are generated due to friction on water surface caused by blowing winds.
The undulations of sea water at the place of their origin are called swells which are low, broad, regular and rounded ridges and troughs of water. In other words, ‘the regular pattern of smooth, rounded waves that characterizes the surface of the ocean during fair weather is called swell’.
The height of wind generated sea waves depends on:
ADVERTISEMENTS:
(i) Wind speed,
(ii) The duration of wind from one direction, and
(iii) The extent of fetch which represents the length of water surface over which the wind blows.

These currents are important to generate electricity in the Tidal energy
- Rivers are the melted glaciers from the mountains. They come down from the mountain and run through the plains and reach the sea.
- They are a natural water system which plays an important role for good farming activity.
- They fertile the land in the plain areas. These fertile lands are known as Deltaic Plains whis is best suited for agricultural activities.
- Sea waves are important for avoiding shore bleaching where many marine flora and fauna are found.
- They are also important for generating tidal energy in the regions of high sea currents.
- River waves are not a regular event. They help us to remove the sediments in the plains where it makes the land naturally even.
River and sea are the origin for all living creatures. But they are at the level of extinction. It is important to preserve and protect them.
